For Battery Owners · Pilot evaluation

Your home battery
is a power station.
Get paid like one.

GivEnergy, FoxESS, SolaX, Solis, Tesla Powerwall and more. AmpVerve connects an existing home battery to UK grid flexibility markets and runs the trading automatically, so the asset earns while it would otherwise sit idle. You keep the majority of the revenue.

Three steps.
From battery to market.

No engineer visit. No new hardware. Connect your existing battery and let AmpVerve do the rest.

Connect your battery
Link a GivEnergy, FoxESS or compatible inverter via the AmpVerve app using your existing inverter cloud credentials. No engineer visit and no extra hardware.
02 / 03
We optimise automatically
AmpVerve charges the battery when power is cheapest, covers the home during peak prices, and exports when it pays the most. Continuous and automatic, within the limits you set.

You get paid
Revenue from frequency response, wholesale trading and flexibility markets is settled to your AmpVerve account. Every dispatch decision is itemised, so you can see what was traded and when.

What your battery
actually earns.

AmpVerve stacks multiple UK energy markets. Here is where the revenue comes from.

Revenue stream
Annual earning
How it works
Wholesale arbitrage
Price spread
Charge when wholesale prices are low, discharge into higher-priced peaks. The spread is the return.
Frequency response
Availability
The battery responds rapidly to grid frequency changes via Dynamic Containment and Dynamic Regulation.
Demand Flexibility Service
Per event
National Grid pays for demand reduction during peak stress events. The battery dispatches automatically when called.
DNO flexibility
Contracted
The local distribution network operator pays for peak reduction. Contracted revenue, not spot market.
Markets, stacked
Combined
All markets are stacked automatically. No manual trading and no switching between platforms.
Battery + solar
Higher tier
Solar surplus is stored and exported at peak prices instead of flat SEG rates. Combined flexibility from both assets opens higher market tiers.
Battery + solar + EV
Full stack
Three assets orchestrated together. EV smart charging shifts load to cheaper periods while battery and solar earn from grid markets.

You set the rules.
We follow them.

AmpVerve's Safety Agent validates every dispatch decision against your preferences before any instruction is sent. Home supply is prioritised, and grid export only ever uses surplus capacity.

🔋
Set your minimum battery level
Choose your reserve floor. AmpVerve never discharges below your chosen level, whether that is 20%, 40% or whatever you prefer. Your backup power stays untouched.
👆
Override any time with one tap
Need all your battery power right now? Tap once and AmpVerve pauses grid participation immediately. Your battery returns to standard home mode. No penalties, no delays.
🛡️
Battery health protected
Proprietary safe dispatch envelopes limit charge and discharge rates, cycle depth and temperature, designed to keep the battery within its warranty parameters.
🏠
Home supply comes first
Your home's power needs are the top priority. Grid export only ever uses surplus capacity after home consumption is covered.
📵
Opt out any time
Going on holiday? Expecting a storm? Pause grid participation with one tap. No minimum term. No notice period. Leave whenever you want.

Works with the battery
you already own.

No new hardware and no engineer visits. If the battery system is already installed, AmpVerve connects to it via your existing inverter cloud API.

How different setups
earn across markets.

Illustrative examples of how common battery setups participate across UK flexibility markets.

A mid-size GivEnergy battery on its own stacks daily wholesale arbitrage with Demand Flexibility Service events through winter, all dispatched automatically.

GivEnergy 9.5kWh · Arbitrage + DFS
With solar added, surplus that would otherwise export at flat SEG rates is stored and sold into higher-priced peaks instead, lifting the return from the same panels.
S
Battery + solar
FoxESS 10.4kWh + 4kW solar
Pairing a battery with a smart EV charger lets the battery earn from grid markets while the charger shifts EV charging to overnight lows. The two are orchestrated together.

Why AmpVerve earns more
Many platforms access only one or two markets. AmpVerve stacks several: wholesale arbitrage, Dynamic Containment, Dynamic Regulation, DFS, DNO flexibility and EPEX intraday. Access to more markets is designed to lift the return from the same battery.

Pilot evaluation
No monthly fee and no subscription. AmpVerve takes a share of the revenue it generates for you, so if it earns nothing, you pay nothing. You keep the majority of all earnings.
Location matters
Revenue varies by DNO territory. SSEN South, UKPN (London and East of England) and NGED (Midlands) areas tend to see stronger returns, driven by active flexibility tender windows and wider wholesale spreads.

No supplier lock-in
AmpVerve works with any energy supplier. There is no need to switch tariff or provider. AmpVerve earns on top of the deal you already have.

Everything you need
to know.

Do I need to change energy supplier?
No. AmpVerve works with any UK energy supplier. You do not need to switch to any other supplier. Keep your current tariff and supplier. AmpVerve earns revenue from grid markets independently of your retail electricity contract.
Will it damage my battery?
AmpVerve uses proprietary safe dispatch envelopes that limit charge rates, discharge rates, cycle depth and temperature exposure. These limits are designed to keep the battery within its warranty parameters, and the optimised cycling avoids deep discharges and extreme charge rates.
What if I need all my battery power?
You set the reserve level. AmpVerve never goes below it. If you set 30% as your minimum, your battery will always have at least 30% available for your home. You can also override at any time with one tap in the app, instantly pausing all grid activity.
How do I get paid?
Revenue accumulates in your AmpVerve account and can be withdrawn via bank transfer or taken as account credit. Every payment is itemised, showing which grid event generated each amount.
Is there a contract?
There is no minimum term and no lock-in period. You can leave at any time, and the battery returns to standard operation. No penalties and no exit fees.
What battery brands work?
GivEnergy, FoxESS, SolaX, Solis, Tesla Powerwall, Enphase, SolarEdge, Huawei, Growatt and AlphaESS, with new brands added regularly. If a brand is not listed, contact us and we will check compatibility. Most cloud-connected inverters can be integrated.
Do I need a smart meter?
Yes. A SMETS2 smart meter is required to participate in UK grid flexibility markets. If you do not have one yet, contact your energy supplier, which will install one at no cost.
How much does it cost?
AmpVerve takes a share of the revenue it generates for you, so if it earns nothing, you pay nothing. No monthly fee, no subscription, no setup fees and no exit costs.
