These are deliberately conservative estimates. They exclude several stackable value streams and assume site eligibility, telemetry readiness and market access. Behind-the-meter assets do not perform like fully optimised grid-scale plant, so real-world, fully managed deployments typically achieve more. Indicative only, not a guarantee of revenue.

How are these numbers calculated?

UK BESS values are benchmarked against the Modo Energy revenue index 2024-25, which tracks single-asset BESS earnings from frequency response (Dynamic Containment / Regulation / Moderation), Balancing Mechanism participation, and wholesale arbitrage on N2EX.

Ancillary services reflect published rates from NESO (UK), EirGrid DS3 (Ireland), TenneT FCR/aFRR (Germany / Netherlands), AEMO FCAS (Australia), CAISO and ERCOT (United States), and EMA Demand Response Programme (Singapore).

Tariff arbitrage uses Octopus Agile, Octopus Cosy and Intelligent Octopus Go pricing windows for UK residential, and equivalent ToU tariffs by country.

Avoided grid upgrade applies only to site-owner audiences and is gated by local constraint pressure.

Hardware payback uses typical 2026 install cost per kW for the selected audience: £600/kW for data centres up to £1,800/kW for CPO. Excludes operational savings.

Caveat: Planning estimate only. Not a quote or guarantee. Local eligibility, metering, telemetry, baselines and contracts always required.
